Hi hi, back I am to finish my last pre-christmas adventures.
After we had finished our sightseeing walk round the city of Graz we went to see Paulinchen’s Mum and Dad for dinner. Our humans filled their tummiey with loads of Wiener Schnitzel and we fluffies made ourselves comfortable on the sofa. Paulinchen and myself had to tell Schmusibu and Blöki everything we had done during the day. A new buddy of Blöki joined us, too. He is a Russian called Igor, butVerena always calls him “Bob”. Very strange!

After our little chat I handed Paulinchen my christmas present. I had put a photo of our Großglockner trip last July into a snowstorm globe filled with glittery snow. Now Paulinchen always has a picture of the two of us to look at.

Paulinchen really loved the present and we strongly shook the globe and had the glitter whirl around the globe. And then we shook it again and again and again and again…

Then Paulinchen pushed a red box in my direction and smiled happily. “Unwrap it”, she said and then she watched me untying the strings around the box. When I opened the box Paulinchen peeped round the cover of the box. I guess she just wanted to see me making a stupid face when I discovered the helmet inside the box. A helmet?

… and a pair of shorts and a jersey!!! That was a full American Football outfit. Wow! I was absolutely blown away by this cool present and I gave Paulinchen a spontaneous teddy kiss on the cheek. What a brilliant present. Paulinchen had her Mum bring the outfit all the way from their holiday in America. Oh yes and by the way it is the original outfit of the New England Patriots.

It was as clear as daylight that I had to try the things on straight away. First the shorts and then the jersey. Well, hmmmm, hmm hmm, the neckline seems to struggle with my teddy ears. Hey-hooo!

And what a strange helmet that was. On the front side I couldn’t see through and the facemask was on the on the back of the helmet. What a stupid design! Well, until Paulinchen told me it might be better to turn the helmet round. Stupid me…

When I had finished changing and I turned round I almost fell over. Paulinchen had also changed clothes and was now wearing a New England Patriots cheerleader costume. Sexy teddy lady. That deserved just another kiss. and another one and another one…

Unfortunately our humans finished their dinner soon after and were about to leave so we had to change again and then say goodbye. That was a hard farewell and when I was sitting in the car I saw Paulinchen standing on the window with her gingerbread heart waving me goodbye. “See you, my dear Paulinchen!”

What a sad drive back to the hotel that was, I can tell you. I thought about Paulinchen all the time and imagined how it would be to visit the flock in Vienna together with her. But instead I went to Vienna with my humans the next morning. But that will be the next story soon, very soon.
See you

Hiya friends,
the new year is hardly two weeks old and I start telling you about last year. Hihi, yes there are some stories left to be told. When Mum and Dad started packing a suitcase in December and they told me to get my winter clothes I started wondering where we were going and zoooosh we were on the motorway.
We went from one snow storm to the next towards the mountains and very late in the evening we arrived in a small village in Austria. Mum and Dad still wouldn’t tell me where we were but from the car window I had seen a singpost to Graz. Graz! That meant Schmusibu, Manu, Wolfi, Smudo, Sparky and….. most of all my Pauliiiiinchen!
After the arrival I went straight to bed , my humans decided to go to a local pub for a goodnight drink. Next morning we went sightseeing in GRaz and guess who joined us on top of the castle hill . yes, exactly, Paulinchen. After a first beary hug we sat down to enjoy the scenery.

Harry, Paulinchen’s Dad made sure we did not have to walk around with cold feet in the snow and carried us all day in a very special two-tourist-teddy-open-top-rucksack. The problem for him was that he always had to look the other way while we were watching the big sights.

We saw the castle from all possible points of view, we saw the open air stage and the clock tower but the most beautiful spot was a small garden pavillon from which you could see the town and the castle alike – it was such a romantic place.

After a lot of sight-seeing even teddy bears need a break. We had a short break on one of these one-human- respectively two-teddy-benches in the park of the castle. Great service, we thought.

From the castle we…, well Harry went down to the city centre. Shopping it was now and as far as shopping is concerned bear girls are the same as human girls, I guess. We had to stop for every shiny glittery shop window we came past. You might be able to guess how long we stood in front of this christmas decoration shop. If I had told Paulinchen they even sold chocolate…

Just a few steps around the corner there was a gingerbread shop and as we teddy bears do, we thoroughly checked the assortment. All these different kinds of gingerbread, so fascinating for a teddy bear.

When Paulinchen did not pay attention for a second I quickly baought her a gingerbread heart. “My little bear” ist says in candy writing and I gave it to her in front of the Graz Art House. The colour of the candy fit Paulinchen’s outfit perfectly.

There comes a time when even the strongest teddy bear needs a snack and so we went for a sausage stand. I liked the sausages but the Austrians sprinkle the sausages with a strange substance. It looks like Parmesan cheese, you know the cheese humans put on Italian pasta dishes, but it doesn’t taste cheesy. Not at all, it’s rather, ahem… spicy…hot? This stuff really makes a teddy bear’s tongue prickle.

After the snack we werer ready for the last part of the sightseeing tour – a visit to Eggenberg castle. A very nice castle and so many peacocks around. Unfortunately the castle’s state rooms were closed for winter – hmpf!

Well, we decided to go for a short walk round the castle grounds, took a picture and then we went back. Harry and Paulinchen went home to her Mum and we went back to the hotel for a short break before we would go for a dinner visit to Paulinchen’s parents. I’ll tell you about that the next time.
See you soon

Hiya and a happy new year to all of you,
it’s been almost three months now since my humans and myself have been to England and so it’s about time to finish the English adventures before I might be back to England the next time.
On the way to the airport my humans went to Windsor for a short stop-over to visit the queen’s castle. We had been there before when we were on holiday two years ago but the weather wasn’t too good then. Blue sky, queen’s weather, one could say.

Right in the centre of the castle is a big, round tower in which our house would fit two or three times. I would have loved to know how the rooms inside the tower look like and if the queen was there. But my humans preferred to watch an old puppet house.

From the big flag on top of the tower I knew the queen was at home so we could have popped in for a cup of tea. So I decided to pay the queen a visit while my humans went to the other part of the palace to see old puppet houses, armours, weapons and dresses. Spiky is coming for a cup of tea.

That’s where she lives over there. I just have to climb over that fence and walk across the lawn. Then I knock on the door, shake her paw and say “Hi Lissy, my name is Spiky and I am from Germany!”

Oops, obviously the whole thing wasn’t that easy. A few seconds before I could knock on the palace door somebody grabbed my neck, lifted me up and turned me round. A grinning soldier looked at me shaking his head and then asked me what I was up to. When I told him I wanted to see the queen for tea he smiled and then he carried me back to the tourist area and handed me back to Mum and Dad.

Well, I didn’t make it to the queen but it was funny anyway. The soldier was so nice and at least I could see the castle from a different bearspective.
From Windsor we went straight to the airport and a few hours later we were in the air flying back to Munich. Bye bye England, bye bye friends.
Thanks for reading and see you next time

Jingle Bears, Jingle Bears, Jingle all the way…
Oh, ahem, hi there, I didn’t realise you were there. I am right in the middle of my prebearations for my bis christmas gingerbread bearkery. I’ve put all the ingredients on the table an I’ve put my apron on so I am ready to start.

First of all I have to weigh out the flour. This pack seems to be heavier than I am myself. Hey-ho and into the bowl. Too bad I can’t read the display and pour the flour. Hopefully my Dad lets me know when to stop.

Yuck, this is really the worst part of the job. I have to cut candied lemon and orange peel into tiny little dices. So lucky this peel isn’t stickyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, arghl. Does anybod know how to free teddy fur from candied lemon peel?

OoooK, we need a big bowl for the dough. Let’s see if this one is big enough. “Helllooooo Echooooo???” “Heeeeeeellllo Spikyyyyyyy!” Oh, wow
, I guess this bowl is definitely big enough!

Right – butter, flour, grated nuts, sugar, eggs and the sticky peel thingy get mixed together. Oh my God is this machine hard to keep in my paws. I wonder who’s kneading who? me the dough or vice versa? But there is one important ingredient missing, I think,…..

… oh yes, hihihi, honey! Wait – first the quality check! A very thorough quality check, very very thorough! Just to make sure, you know…! Ooops, Daaad, do we have another glas of honey?

Dad put a lump of dough on the table for me to roll into a thin layer. To and for, up and town there and bayk again till the dough was really thin and my arms were really thin – just like the arms of Arnold Schwarzeneckbear. Look at me, I am Conan, the Bearbearian!

That is the biggest fun part of the gingerbread baking action. Taking the cookie cutter and cutting the pieces from the dough. Then I put them carefully onto the baking tray – can you already see what the gingerbread will look like?

Aaaaah. Time to relax. Watching gingerbread getting brown and getting a bit of warmth for the own teddy tummy is just wonderful. Oh, they look like they’re done now.

Finiiiished. All gingerbread baked, iced, painted or sprinkled and I got so many of them that I can give them away. Well, I will give some of the away for sure. And one packet of gingerbread cookies is reserved for one lucky winner – all you have to do is comment on this article and I will draw a lucky winner from all the comments

I wish you all a beary merry Christmas with lots and lots of presents, good food and loads of hugs – after all it’s called a “feast of love” over here. I will hug my humans, too – well, if the give me nice presents *gg*
Have a good time and Merry christmas to you all
Yours Spiky
